To Ian,
Truth be told, it’s hard to put my thoughts into words right now. But maybe I don’t need to. Because thoughts and feelings are what we shared, without the use of words. Never have I met a person with whom I’ve had such a deep, unwavering connection with, until I met you. Do you remember that time when we sat atop the parking garage, right on the edge, for several hours? We shared a whole pack of cigarettes, and sat in near silence the whole time. Nothing needed to be said. It was beautiful.
But that is not to say we didn’t have a fair amount of conversations in the time we were together. You were a brilliant guy, with a brilliant mind. You knew how to evoke a feeling of life within me, within everyone.
We laughed,
We danced,
We wrestled,
We cursed,
We existed.
And we still do.
You’ll be in our hearts and thoughts forever.
I hope you find the peace you were looking for, wherever you are.
May the dark passenger that burdened you, be left behind, so that you can continue your journey in blissful purity.
I miss you.
